Extell finally began construction on its International Gem Tower in April, after a long delay that even had the state begging the developer to build the darn thing. Now: there's been some progress! Extell's Diamond District gamechanger has finally started climbing out of the ground, with a completion goal of 2012. The finished building is supposed to have a diamond-like pattern on its facade.
