A Brooklyn assemblywoman has some concerns about the potential deal that could give Walmart space at Related's Gateway II plaza in Brooklyn. Namely, the fact that Related is now set to pay the city only $14.5 million for the land for Gateway II when the deal was originally for $32.5 million. Assemblywoman Inez Barron says Related argued for a decrease in price because of the recession, but that the 2009 residential-to-commercial rezoning of the land should have increased its value.
