Back in 2008, the site at 538 Washington Avenue in Clinton Hill was set to be home to an eight-unit building by none other than the mezzanine miscreant of Brooklyn himself, Robert Scarano. How things can change in three years! Scarano has been barred from filing plans in the city?and the site at 538 Washington is officially on the market, Brownstoner notes. As per the listing, "The site currently has DOB approved plans? The footing has been installed to qualify for 421-A tax abatement but the plans and permit has since expired." Which means the site won't have the Scarano design shown at right, and whoever buys the property (currently asking $999,000) will need to get a new architect on board. And so the Scarano fallout continues.
