Sandcastle Chops Another $7 Million; The Hamptons' Highest Taxes

The latest from Curbed Hamptons, our outpost on the East End?

1) Bridgehampton's Sandcastle, home of builder Joe Farrell, has been on the market for several years, once asking as much as $59.5 million. It just got chopped another $7 million, for a fresh ask of $43.5 million.

2) Now that we've been through the Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens second quarter market reports, the Hamptons has a turn. Sales and prices are up, but so is listing inventory.

3) Who pays the highest property taxes in the Hamptons? That would be mining and minerals billionaire Ira Rennert, whose Sagaponack compound got a $483,742 tax bill in 2008.
