Park51 attorney Adam Leitman Bailey made an appearance on Bill O'Reilly's Fox News show this weekend to talk money; specifically, that the site's developers still do not have any. The demolition of the former Burlington Coat Factory building is still on, but Park51's architects estimate the new building will cost $17 million. (Seems like a lowball figure for an eight-story structure in the Battery Park City, wethinks.)
O'Reilly weighs in with his intimate knowledge of the construction worker sentiment in New York City, projecting, "You don't have anyone who's gonna pick up a hammer and build it; the unions aren't gonna build it." We stopped watching after he compares Park51 to putting a Benihana in Pearl Harbor.
