Living with Legends points out a Hotel Chelsea trend that's gone unnoticed amid all the big changes taking place at the building: art is going missing. Several evicted tenants have taken their art with them, and two other pieces of art from the hotel were found in the trash on 23rd Street. Several Brett Whiteley paintings previously stacked in Stanley Bard's office were taken away in a van last week, which could mean they're headed for auction. "For now," laments Living with Legends, "residents are left to stare forlornly at blank spaces on the discolored walls of our lobby and stairwell." Until that "subtle" upgrade arrives, that is.
