And now, the latest from Racked NY, covering shopping and retail from the sidewalks up.
1) West Village: The West Village has a problem: people are going puppy shopping while drunk. Pet shop owners are cracking down by forbidding anyone who seems drunk from even holding a dog.
2) FiDi: The old JPMorgan building at 23 Wall Street wants to be home to a department store. Assuming the store meets the building's exacting standards: "We don't want an off-price retailer, but it isn't appropriate for Bergdorf Goodman either."
3) FiDi: Speaking of Wall Street, there's a new Duane Reade at 40 Wall, and it happens to be the largest Duane Reade ever built. What will it be doing with all that space? There'll be an in-store salon with shampoos, blow-outs, and massages.
