The 76th-floor Time Warner Center penthouse once owned by telecom mogul and Curbed obsession Michael Hirtenstein has a history dotted with boldface names. Big Hirt himself rented the place to Jay-Z before selling it to Todd Wagner, billionaire and Mark Cuban business partner, for $27 million. The place came back on the market in 2010 asking a whopping $38 million?and then $73.5 million as part of Manhattan's most expensive but non-existant listing. That apartment, not so shockingly, was never purchased, but #76B will be, and soon. The Post reports that the place is in contract for $31 million to an Asian financier. The per square foot price, at $6,400/square foot for a 4,825-square-foot space, would be the Time Warner Center's highest ever. But the developer's still got a chance to beat it.
