London Terrace Gardens' Long Nightmare Soon to be Over

New, 3 comments

Back when we sent our Persistant Youngsters over to London Terrace to document the horrors of the scaffolding, things were looking pretty dreadful. But lo! A Times piece informs us that the three-year long renovation is just about done, and the $7.7M spent sound like they were worth it with the building expected to not fall apart for another generation.

Let's not forget that the London Terrace Gardens is the rental section of Chelsea's massive 10 building complex. Just a while back there was that hubbub over the lawsuit filed by some tenants against the building over rents raised while accepting J-51 benefits. Well, tenants might get riled up again since this renovation is going set to raise rents at least $100 per tenant. Sure looks pretty though.
