Visualizing the US Debt With the Help of New York City Landmarks

New, 15 comments

The debt ceiling situation (T minus 1 days 'til deadline!) is dire, but it's hard to picture just how much we're in the hole. Note: need more mnemonic devices for visualizing the quantity "trillion." Lucky for us math plebes, there's an infographic for that, and it measures the physical size of monetary increments against city landmarks. Exhibit A, above, shows $15 trillion stacked in $100 bills, versus the Statue of Liberty.

Whoulda thunk: $114.5 trillion trounces New York's largest.
