2007 was a big year for sales at 55 White Street in Tribeca, though we haven't seen a terribly many listings for the seven floor cast-iron landmarked building's 17 units since then. So our eyes perked up at the pricechopped townhouse unit, now on sale for $4 million after a 17% deduction from the $4,750,000 ask with Prudential Douglas Elliman five months ago. The townhouse is a whopping 5,000 square feet with three bedrooms, a 50-foot window bank, and its own private entrance. Curiously, it seems to have been decorated by a professional caterer (white walls, oddly placed statues, swags, cheap cane bar stools) so the staging is hideous, but no matter! It's ripe for the renovating at $800 per square foot.
Note: there's also a mysterious third floor (basement level?) shown on the listing, though it's not labeled, hence the mystery. Still, we're talking 5,000 square feet, so imagine what you will.
