Sayonara, chain link fences, and hello public Navy Yard access! Workers were spotted at the Flushing and Carlton Avenue intersection on Tuesday "planting trees and laying sidewalks" for what will become The Brooklyn Navy Yard Center, a $25.5 million community center and museum that's scheduled to open in November. This will be the first time the public has had access to the industrial site, and we can only imagine what treasures lie within. [Bed-Stuy Patch]
