The latest back-from-the-dead project with a Karl Fischer stamp is 427 East 12th Street, which will be a six-story, 11-unit residential building. The Local has a look at the rendering, which certainly isn't a drastic departure from the Karl Fischer oeuvre. (At least 263 Bowery will have a friend nearby?) As for what's inside, the building will have two 1BR apartments per floor on floors two through five. The ground floor apartment will also include a backyard. There'll be a communal roof deck, the better to catch preservationists sneering outside. The most generous comment one preservationist could come up with about the building: "Perhaps the rendering doesn't do it justice." Perhaps.
