Long Island City diner M. Wells, a renegade on the neighborhood's foodie scene, will be closing at the end of August, thanks to a baddie landlord offering "astronomically high rent, a short length of lease and a strict buy-out clause." This is bad news for the city's adventurous carnivores (snail-stuffed bone marrow!), and worse news for LIC's recent influx of residents and PS1 daytrippers. [Eater NY]
