The last time the US hosted a World's Fair was 1984, and one archi-critic thinks it's high time to jumpstart the global shindig, specifically on the shores of Governors Island. Fred Bernstein hammers out a pretty legit proposal, invoking New York's failed Olympic bid and Governors Island's "iconic" location and appealing to the Bloomberg administration and statehouse equivalents to prepare a city-backed plan before the 2012 deadline for an expo in 2020.
