Hurricane Irene Makes 290 Mulberry's Starchitecture Even Sadder

Hurricane Irene didn't give only Karl Fischer-designed new construction a rough time: Bowery Boogie snapped the above shot of new peeling on the facade of 290 Mulberry. "There are now ten bare spots on the eastern exposure of the building," Bowery Boogie notes, not to mention the caving perimeter plywood down below. You do hate to see that, especially since the building hasn't had much else to say for itself lately. The property is still on the market for $25 million, but that's before any damage discount.
