Unarrested Development

The stalled construction at the "Bryant Park of Brooklyn" is back in action with an $8 million infusion. Economic Development Corp. cut $7 million from Willoughby Park's capital funds last year; the city has already spent $40 million of the $70 million budgeted for the one-acre green space on "acquisition, relocation, demolition and design costs." Developers are now pledging individual contributions of up to $2.5 million, with the pay-off of easier marketing for future DoBro buildings (not to mention the 694 underground parking spaces that the park is intended to cover).
