Uni Arrives in Lower Manhattan; Chelsea Gets Micro-Parks

New, 2 comments

CHELSEA—September 16 is PARK(ing) Day in Chelsea (and around the world!) as citizens transform metered parking spots into temporary parks. Moving forward, the neighborhood will reserve one parking space per Chelsea block (100 in total) into micro-parks "that will be within a walking distance of 2 minutes of EVERY Chelsea resident." LOWER MANHATTAN—The Uni is coming! We told you earlier this summer about a Kickstarter campaign to build and install temporary library capsules around Manhattan, and now it's coming true as of September 11, when the first Uni appears (complete with Yoko One Wish Tree) at the New Amsterdam Market from 11am-4pm.
