The owners of Upper West Side troubled classic the Apthorp are now no longer so sure they want the building's loan sold. Anglo Irish Bank struck a deal last month to sell the loan to Lone Star Funds, but the buildings' owners are planning to challenge that in court. Or, because the situation isn't confusing enough, Lone Star might sell the loan to another investment firm that lost in the earlier Apthorp loan auction.
