Inspired by magazine spreads of the 1960s, photographer Jeanette May has recreated the sexualized tableau that says a man's place is in his home. Are today's urban homes of single men featuring plasma tvs and iPod dock sound systems just a continuation of the swinging bachelor pads of the 1960s that had hi-fi reel-to-reel stereos and wet bars to entice sexually liberated women or men? May will be exhibiting her "Bachelor Pad" series of photographs in a solo show at the A.I.R. Gallery in Dumbo Feb. 1-25, with an opening reception on February 2nd.
