Every Dot on This Map Represents a Property in Trouble

New, 2 comments

Thankfully, we're not quite at the point in 2012 where we have to leave the 2011 roundups behind, so here's one more, from the folks at PropertyShark. The city-wide map plots all of NYC's distressed residential properties (foreclosures and pre-foreclosures) for last year. The number of dots on that map look overwhelming? Take heart: the 12,177 distressed properties in NYC in 2011 was actually 34 percent lower than 2010's number and 46 percent lower than the peak seen in 2008.
