A deal with Tommy Hilfiger fell through and Marriott swooped in to buy the Madison Avenue clock tower building in October, and now the first details are trickling out about the Edition brand hotel Marriott plans for the space. Ian Schrager, who's working with Marriott on the Edition hotels, tells the Journal the design at the clock tower is inspired by the Dakota, "which means rich woods and Old World details, done in a modern way."
