Astoria's Steinway Mansion Finally Dips Below $3 Million

New, 7 comments

Even a gorgeous look inside hasn't been enough to sell Astoria's Steinway Mansion, the 1858 property with a billiards room, pub, and sauna on grounds that used to be home to the Steinway piano factory. Hmm, perhaps the problem is the price? It's gone as high as $4.9 million in the past, and it returned to market in August 2010 with an ask of $4.5 million. That got chopped to $3.495M, and now, the Daily News reports, the price is going lower still, to $2.995 million. Some of the furniture and statues from the house have already been auctioned off, and the owner has also tried to strike a deal with the city.
