A Cobble Hill family got the green light from Community Board 6, but the Cobble Hill Association is going to fight a proposed backyard extension to a rowhouse on Tompkins Place that is invisible from the street, but will extend a portion of the building six feet higher than neighbors' homes. Opponents to the addition say it will chip away at the street's charm and could spark a "Wild West" building boom atmosphere. The matter will go before the Landmarks Preservation Commission for approval. [BrooklynPaper]
