A Classy Park Slope Townhouse Sure to Spark Controversy

New, 8 comments

Back when J. Crew creative director Jenna Lyons was selling her Park Slope townhouse—just three blocks from here—for $3.75M, commenters were up in arms about the price. Well, this one is one block closer to Prospect Park, sits around the corner from John Jay High School, and has a less personalized interior, but is that enough to justify the $4M price tag? Built in 1909, the limestone-fronted townhouse boasts six bedrooms, 3.5 baths, a 20-foot width, and an elegant, adaptable floor plan. An extensive renovation brought central air and a 32-foot basement media room, but at this price an elevator is sorely missed. Nonetheless, the renovated kitchen and pair of terraces help to sell the walk up.
