Local politicians have decided it's time to speak up about the "cemetery of broken promises" that is Bruce Ratner's Atlantic Yards job creation numbers. Ratner had promised the project would bring 1,500 jobs to the neighborhood, and so far it has created fewer than 1,000. Only 100 of those, mostly retail rather than construction jobs, have gone to neighborhood residents. Part of the problem is the continued scaling back of the project, including the decision to construct a prefab tower. [WSJ]
