Harlem's Community Board 10 is rethinking its opposition to housing developmentally challenged men in a luxury condo building on Lenox Avenue. Opponents of the new housing argued that there was already plenty of "special interest" housing in the neighborhood, including halfway houses, drug treatment centers, and group homes. Disability advocates argued that the young men intended for the two apartments at Lenox Avenue's Savoy West building do not have criminal records or drug problems, and should not be housed as if they do.
