Long-Stalled 'Burg Karl Fischer Project Finally Shows Itself

A Karl Fischer "monster tower" planned for the corner of Grand Street and Driggs Avenue was felled by a rezoning several years ago. Hot Karl returned to the drawing board to produce a much smaller structure, but that too was delayed by a partial stop-work order. Brownstoner notices that the netting has finally come down from the 227 Grand Street structure. The result? A "true karl Fischer classic," in 'Stoner's words, though we've contractually agreed never to mention the words "Karl Fischer" and "classic" in the same sentence. Documents on file with the city place the building size at 41 units.
