The curtain is set to rise on the future of the beautiful Metro Theater at 2626 Broadway, with an imminent announcement of the identity of a retailer who is set to occupy the space after a planned $900,000 renovation. The Metro theater between West 99th and 100th Streets opened in 1933, and its Art Deco facade was registered as a city landmark in 1989. The building has been unoccupied for the last six years. The building's owner, Albert Bialek, said the retailer will be specified in two weeks. [DNAinfo]
