East River Science Park Returns at Last With New Building

New, 3 comments

Before there were plans for Cornell's tech campus on Roosevelt Island, there were plans for the East River Science Park, a complex on 29th Street east of First Avenue. Its first building broke ground in 2007, but the sequel stalled amid the credit crunch and the foundation was left as an urban farm, the Journal explains. Now, finally, it's time for the veggies to step aside for the site's intended purpose. Work is beginning on the 400,000-square-foot building, which should be done by the end of next year. Two companies&151;cancer drug manufacturer Roche and biotech company?have agreed to take about 60,000 square feet each in the office tower. Onward!
