Michael Arad Designs a Rooftop Farm; NYC's Priciest 'Hood

EAST VILLAGE?After completing the National 9/11 Memorial, architect Michael Arad took on another NYC project: a rooftop farm atop the Robert Simon Public School Complex, home to the Earth School, PS 64, and Tompkins Square Middle School. The 2,400-square-foot garden is six years in the making. It will be used for classes and experiments, and the produce harvested will be served in the school's cafeterias.
