Designer Karim Rashid Seeks $2.795 Million for Chelsea Loft

New, 12 comments

Designer Karim Rashid believes in "rigorous beautification of our built environments," so the fact that he bought and completely remade a white box Chelsea loft isn't a surprise. Rashid purchased the apartment, at 251 West 19th Street, for $2.475 million in 2008. Then came the renovation, which we'll let the brokerbabble describe:

The loft home has oversized new windows throughout, 11'5 ft. ceilings, and a brand new Italian lacquered custom kitchen. The loft also features 12 built in hidden speakers in the ceiling, LED ceiling lights throughout, floor lighting, a ballet floor, glass walls, glass pocket doors, TV in the bathroom, steam shower, designer toilets and a huge walk in closet. The home is centrally air conditioned and there are an abundance of secret closet spaces throughout. He personally designed the faucets, sinks, mirrors and tiles, all which are included in the purchase. Hope you like them! The place is asking $2.795 million this time around.
