Brooklyn Bridge Park's Main Street Park in Dumbo may be experiencing a little manifest destiny, as expansion plans were revealed recently, Brownstoner reports. The new proposal, which will probably draw less ire than the $40 million that was donated for an indoor cycling track, includes plans for a sports court, dog run, skate park, boating program or climbing wall. (To be fair, some ire could probably be drawn by a couple of those.) The park expansion ideas will be discussed at a community board meeting on Monday, and, if everything goes according to plan, should have a design by January. Overall, this looks fairly uncontroversial—the only thing currently in the new park section's way is a Department of Environmental Protection building and Department of Transportation paint shed—so as long as there's no velodrome involved, it should be okay.
