Marble House, the epically marbled, epically discounted triplex within 60 Collister Street, has been hanging out with the PriceChopper again. The new price is $15.75 million, a 10 percent discount from the previous ask. That's tame for this apartment, which was originally seeking $24.5 million and was just relisted in July for a mere $17.5M. The owner is designer and film producer Stuart Parr, who's responsible for marbling up the place. The full array of marble photos lives on in our old gallery.
The brokerbabble also gives the flavor:
The aptly-named Marble House is a delight to the senses with a range of rich, harmonious surfaces: decadent imported Carrara, Striato Olimpico, Grey Bardiglio, and Crema Valencia marbles from slabs hand-selected by Parr himself; grade-A, rift and quarter-sawn, wide-plank White Oak floors laid in a chic Chevron pattern-stunning in their simplicity; custom-designed plaster crown moldings; nickel-plated hardware; and blackened steel?.The main level features a spectacular Entrance Foyer with imported Murano glass chandelier leading to a Grand Hall some 60' in length bathed in light from six oversize windows and punctuated by three identical Murano glass chandeliers. The Grand Hall opens to a private Salon/Library and separate formal Dining Room-each with an imported Murano glass chandelier?.Upstairs, the spectacular 1,000-plus square foot Master Suite includes a 17' x 22' bedroom with Palladian window; a 13' x 22' Dressing Room; and a glamorous Carrara marble bath with walls of beveled glass, nickel, and plaster.
