The Alexander Cuts Penthouse Price Again, Now Wants $14.9M

New, 9 comments

Turtle Bay's the Alexander is really having a hard time finding someone to live in the 5,500-square-foot duplex penthouse. It was first listed for $17.25 million by Corcoran in July 2010, then that listing came down five months later. It was relisted for the same price by CORE in early 2011, but that listing, once again, came down. The penthouse took a 10 month break from the market before coming back earlier this year. Brown Harris Stevens pricechopped it to $15.75 million in February, but still, no one wanted it. And now it has been relisted, yet again, with Nestseekers for $14.9 million. Will the fourth time be the charm?

The keyed elevator goes to both the 24th and 25th floors, and the main entrance opens into the living room. The unit has 16 foot ceilings, five bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, two half bathrooms, a media room, library, office, and a massive 1,100-square-foot terrace. We'll let the brokerbabble do the talking for the master suite:

Off of the kitchen is a floating staircase leading up to the Media Room and Master Suite. The luxurious Master Suite features a warm sitting area with a fireplace, walk-in-closet, powder room and dressing room. The Master Bath is finished in Jerusalem limestone and outfitted with Kohler double vessel sinks, deep soaking tub, spa shower and heated towel bars. And here are the newest floor plans:
