In 2007, Karl Fischer brought Williamsburg to Downtown Brooklyn. Downtown Brooklyn, in response, said, essentially, "eh, no thanks." Now, developer Park Avenue Developers & Management has decided to list almost all the units as rentals "based on the strong rental market" and definitely not based on the fact that nobody bought any of them, ever. Currently, 20 of the building's 23 apartments are available for rent, for prices ranging from $4,800 to $2,500/month (the sale prices ranged from $1,095,000 to $390,000.) The developers paid $6 million for the former warehouse in 2006.
