Sorry, Joshua Rechnitz, but your $40 million donation to Brooklyn Bridge Park is no longer the biggest gift ever made to a city green space. Hedge fund billionaire John Paulson just smashed the record with his $100 million gift to Central Park. Half the money will be added to Central Park's $144 million endowment, and the other will go to capital improvements, likely the restoration of the North Woods and the Merchant's Gate entrance at the park's southwest corner.
