"Interesting as a statement on style in the West Village in the 60s, shades of My Sister Irene and Italian restaurants with dripping candles coming out of wine jugs and those bright little paintings one bought from 'local' artists with punchy colours. (Didn't Alice Tully have green carpets in her apartment on Central Park South? I think she was trying to bring in the Central Park Lawn into the living room.) The challenge for the buyer will be to reimagine the interior keeping the lyrical Village flavour, but the open chilly banal plan would be probably the builder's first impulse."?anon [Historic Soho Townhouse Plagued by Sickly Green Carpets]
