The Sheffield Gets Goddess Sculpture; Times Square Gets Art

New, 2 comments

MIDTOWN?Luxury condo building the Sheffield classed things up a bit with a new modern sculpture by artist David Hostetler. Hostetler, who also created the Trump International's bronze sculptures, unveiled a 13-foot tall white artwork called IKON reminiscent of an ancient goddess. The sculpture will sit permanently in the building's courtyard. [CurbedWire Inbox; previously]

TIMES SQUARE?The digital billboards of Times Square will be taken over by original artwork for the landmark exhibition "Art Square." Rafael Rozendaal, who often uses the "internet as a canvas," has been chosen as the first artist for the event, taking place next year. Rozendaal's artwork lies "somewhere between painting and animation," which sounds pretty perfect for Times Square billboards. [CurbedWire Inbox; official]
