The Soros clan is off-loading its luxury real estate. Yesterday, George Soros' listed her Village townhouse for $29.5M, and today, the billionaire's ex-wife Susan Weber Soros has listed her 5BR/5.5BA apartment at the Majestic for $50 million (which happens to be the same amount an ex-girlfriend sued Soros for in 2011, coincidence?). The 6,000-square-foot unit is being sold fully furnished, and it includes a separate 1BR/1BA apartment for staff. Situated on the northeast corner of the 19th floor, the co-op has Central Park views from every principal room and a terrace that runs the length of the unit. There's another terrace off of the master suite, which has a sitting room, office, and changing room.
The Times notes that Ms. Soros bought the pad in 2006 for $25M from an investor who had bought the unit from developer Ian Schrager, who had the place designed by Philippe Starck. Ms. Soros, whose design expertise helped her to found the Bard College Graduate Center for Studies in the Decorative Arts, Design, and Culture, renovated and upgraded the place when she moved in.
