With some buses resuming service and bridges re-opening, New York City is slowing reawakening post-Hurricane Sandy. But hundreds of thousands are still without power, schools are still closed, and the flooded subway system will take days to clean and recover. Officials need to inspect every inch of the 600 miles of tracks, but first the water needs to be pumped out of the stations and tunnels.
