Columbus Critiques

The Journal's Ralph Gardner visited the new Columbus Circle living room, built atop a 75-foot granite column to surround the statue of Christopher Columbus. He likes it! "It's not as thrilling as I expect viewing the Earth from moon orbit would be, but it offers a subtle shift on your perspective of the city." And artist Tatzu Nishi does a credible job with the interior design, even if his taste in wallpaper?pink with "images of the Empire State Building, Elvis, Michael Jackson, hot dogs, McDonald's and Mickey Mouse"?seems a bit, er, out of place.
