Broadway between 29th and 30th Streets is getting 700 new hotel rooms as part of a $300 million project by developer John Lam. Lam acquired the two buildings at 1205 and 1125 Broadway, which together run the length of the block, with plans to create two hotels and retail space in 350,000-square-feet. Starwood and Marriot will each operate a hotel, and rooms will go for $300 to $500 a night. Construction should start next year. [Crain's]
