There were a lot of guesses for this week's Cornerspotter, but reader Mandrew Lynch was the first to get it right. Located at 19 West 34th Street, this building is currently known as the Martin Building, and Banana Republic is the street-level retail tenant. The photo was taken in 1929, just a year after the building was constructed as the Bedell Department Store, designed by architect Joseph Urban. We were unable to find exactly when the original facade was changed, but DOB records show that the existing facade was created in 1998. Have more details about the history? Hit up the tipline.
