Welcome back to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various New York City neighborhoods. Is one man's studio another man's townhouse? Let's find out! Today's price: $4,900/month.
? On the Williamsburg waterfront, a market-rate 2BR in the brand new 15 Dunham Place goes for $4,800/month (no fee), and features river views, big windows, and high-end finishes. The building amenities include a fitness center, bike storage, and a "living wall of greenery" in the lobby. Handy!
? This purportedly full-floor 2BR in Chelsea is going for $4,750/month. It includes a bunch of built in shelves, a decorative fireplace, a nice chandelier or two, and it allows up to one (1) cat.
? In Downtown Brooklyn, a 1,265-square-foot 2BR, 2BA in BellTel Lofts goes for $4,850/month and comes fully furnished. It includes a very open kitchen and living room, a terrace, and bamboo floors.
? In Park Slope, an airy 3BR, 2BA is going for $5,000/month. The highlight is the 380-square-foot living/dining room, as well as its proximity to Prospect Park.
? This 2BR, 1BA in FiDi's Downtown by Philippe Starck, available for $4,750/month, is very nice and everything, but more important than that is the fact that it is and has always been really funny to look at pictures of that building. That pool! Those chandeliers! That outdoor deck with the rugs on it! Hahaha. What a ridiculous building (that is probably incredible to live in.)
? And, finally, on the Upper East Side, we have a 4BR, 2BA duplex for $4,850/month. It includes private outdoor space.
