Chelsea Corner Loft has Cast Iron Columns for $3.7 Million

New, 5 comments

This morning, we were reminded of the Rosario Candela-designed co-op about which a broker said, "You wouldn't bring in a rap singer into 19 East 72nd Street—just as you wouldn't take 19 East 72nd into some rap building," a statement to which one of the logical responses might be: Uh, what is a rap building? Well, lo and behold, that question has been answered a mere three hours later, by this listing in 655 Sixth Avenue, also known as One Ill Building. (Okay, it's actually the O'Neill Building, but we like our version better.) The corner 2BR loft has been listed for $3,700,000 by its current owner, one Maurizio Flammini, who may or may not be a retired Italian race car driver. The apartment is highlighted by 14-foot ceilings, huge windows, and cast iron columns. Looks pretty ill.
