Although the Cornell NYC Tech campus is being constructed on Roosevelt Island, technically part of Manhattan, the only bridge to the island is in Astoria, Queens, and the community board there is none too pleased. At a meeting earlier this week, they expressed concerns that the project would bring years of traffic and pollution, both during and after construction, to their neighborhood while providing nothing in return. Since no part of the project is actually occurring in Queens, however, there's not much they can do about it. But just for the record, Astoria isn't happy. [DNA]
