'Tis the season for New York buildings recreated in gingerbread! Not much can top the amazingly detailed gingerbread brownstone that Renee Baumann created last year, but Baumann herself is going to try. This year, Baumann, who graduated from both architecture school and culinary school, plans to create an entire block of gingerbread houses. Since the scope of the project is so much larger, she's inviting all gingerbread enthusiasts to help her out. The work has already begun at 61 Local in Boerum Hill, where the final block will be displayed once finished.
After the holidays, the houses will be auctioned off with proceeds going to City Harvest. If you're interested in helping build the edible streetscape, you can sign up here.
