Hundreds of homes on the Rockaway peninsula face irreparable damages thanks to Hurricane Sandy, but a neighborhood landmark less than half a block from the beach still stands. The famous century-old house that played the part of the family home in Woody Allen's movie "Radio Days" weathered the storm on Beach 115th Street. It took on five feet of water during Sandy, the boiler and water heater are ruined, and the basement had to be pumped out, but the home will survive. [NYT]
