The tenants of 122 Bergen Street in Boerum Hill say their landlord threatened to have them blacklisted if they didn't move out of the building after Hurricane Sandy. A tree that fell during the storm destroyed the rear fire escape, and the DOB issued a violation and a partial vacate order?but the landlord allegedly responded to those orders by telling the tenants, three of whom are rent-stabilized, to more than partially vacate. In fact, they were told to leave the building and return their keys within 10 days, the tenants say. The tenants have, not surprisingly, filed a lawsuit. [DNAinfo]
